Portland Website Design
& Development

Bold mobile-first, high-converting website design that leaves lasting first impressions

1  |  Discovery Phase

The goal of this session is to gather as much information about your brand as possible. The first step in the process is defining the strategic goals of the site, understanding key audiences' needs, and identifying key competitors.

There are many levels of website design that range from a premade templatized website with little customization to a fully custom e-commerce site and everything in between. With what we learn from the discovery session, combined with our market research, our team will be able to define what website design best suits your brand's needs.

2  |  User Experience (UX) & User Interface (UI) Design

At Good Theory Media, we know the User's Experience on your new website is paramount. Our website design & website development teams build mobile-first websites that are reliable and easy to use. Bad UX means frustrated users and increased bounce rates (the percentage of people who land on a page and leave without performing a specific action). Our UX-centric design ensures your users feel good when navigating your website.

The User Interface is the visual element that is stacked on top of the UX design framework. Think about UI as the aesthetic of your website design. These are the icons, buttonstypography and color schemes, spacing, imagery, and responsive designs. The UI is what gives your new website its unique look and style.

3  |  Wireframes & Mockups

Wireframes are a basic tool for UX design and are an essential part of the website design process. The goal of the wireframes is to map out the user’s flow through your new website – previewing anything that the user will interact with, such as icons, buttons, menus, and dropdowns. This visual representation is key for communicating the website's structure, behavior, navigation, and placement of content.

The website mockup is not as polished as the final live website design, but it does feature many of its final design elements without the functionality. This is the final step of the website design phase that will need approval before moving into website development.

4  |  Content Strategy & Copywriting

At this point in the process, your target audience will be well-defined and can now consistently match the tone and language of your audience across the website. This ensures your customers can identify and relate to your content, significantly increasing traffic, engagement, and conversion rates.

Good Theory Media has a team of copywriters that will perform robust competitor, customer, and market research, always creating compelling copy and an effective personalized experience for your audience.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do you charge to build a website?

There’s not one single answer to this question. A website design is quoted based on the needs of each individual project. Every website is unique and requires different components; we design and develop custom websites specifically for your business. We’ll ask a lot of questions, assess your needs, and give you a price quote based on that assessment. Our smallest package starts at $2500. Please contact us at hello@goodtheorymedia.com to begin the quote process!

Will I be able to update the site myself when it’s finished?

Yes! We love it when our clients take control of their website and learn to manage the content on their own website. You will have full access to the backend of your new website upon migration to make simple text updates, photograph changes, new products and pricing can easily be changed on your own. However, we do recommend a professional (developer) to complete more complex changes and maintenance such as plugin updates, design or structure changes, and complex functionality requirements. We provide hourly tutorials upon completion of your website at $120  per hour if you are interested in learning how to navigate through the backend to make minor updates independently.

Is SEO Included In My Website Build?

No, the build of your website does not include monthly SEO. All items that we add to your website including text, photos and video can be seen by Google but that doesn’t mean you will rank #1.  We do, however, provide top notch monthly SEO services with our team of specialists who are ready to assist with your SEO needs! Do you work with new and small businesses?

Yes! we work with all types of businesses – new, small, to big corporations. We are excited to work and guide new businesses who are passionate about taking their first steps into an online presence and making their vision come to life.
